SLUMBER SUN

VELVET SHEDDING

I found a tender spot

The velvet shedding of my father's love

Swollen in the blistering sun

With the pain of being the only one

Clear, in the clear of day

I was a boy full of child's play

With all I knew so wise in age

Are no longer perfect in any way

Sullen from the full of his load

Frozen in his season's snow

He'll never be the man he wanted to grow

I'll never be the one he hoped to know

EVERY FEBRUARY

Through the blinds when the sun won't shine

Staring at the ceiling tile

Wide awake I find each time

The dreams at night don't satisfy

Romanticizing those fragrant nights

When my beating heart was full of life

Now I'm too old to know who to be

With my own shadow bending away from me

In my dreams it never seems

I will break this lonely scene

The sun is sleeping when I start to ignite

But I'm bleeding out miles on the empty light

Through the vine I'll hear sometimes

I will never cross that county line

Steal away, into the night
Run these streets until the morning light

Now the same old streets where you found your stride

Have found some way to eat you alive

Wading through the tides drowning me at night

Sunken with the line I've cast aside

In my dreams it never seems

I will break this lonely scene

The sun is sleeping when I start to ignite

But I'm bleeding out miles on the empty light

Every February I find each time

I'm the one who's still behind

WANDERER

Wait

I'll wait, I'll wait

For skies to change

The same

Remained, remained

Always hoped for more

In a way

The wait, the weight

In my heart did bore

Refrained

Always, always

From something more

The street's on fire

Desire turned it to flames

Oh where has gone I'm wanderer

Stirred a sorrowed soul lost in his way

In a haze,

A haze, a haze

Of the yellowing sun

In the light dripping dawn I hoped to exist

Wrapped only in threads of innocence

Unraveling sins that bind from within

A heart that can't beat tame

The street's on fire

Desire turned it to flames

Oh where has gone I'm wanderer

Stirred a sorrowed lament of his ways

HINTERLAND

Illuminated
Shining stolid through the pine

A reflecting guise

MOONFLOWER

Don't be sad and disillusioned

For in time all your life is blooming

BELLWETHER

I'm a swelling tide

With the lunar high

Where darkness only serves the glimmer

Of the dying light

Deep in the depths

I dared not try

Flushed of all tones
When my toes left the mire

Calling out

The leader of the flock at night
When all I ever wanted was just to feel alright

I can't unsee

All remains unseen

If forever is for only ever until it passes by

My hands are tied

These arms could break

Trying to hold back every pulse that can't beat tame

Revolving wildly

In an endless waltz

With every ounce of sadness

And every single ounce of doubt

Calling out

The leader of the flock at night
When all I ever wanted was just to feel alright

My misery creeps

For all remains unseen

If forever is for only ever until it passes by

Oh the stars

They're shining bright in my eyes

They're telling me they will leave me behind

Oh the stars

They must be burning with lies

Now I'm too blind to see if I'm wrong or they're right

WILD APPLE

My wild apple my you have grown

From a hand unseen whose seed was sown

Through every tempest ruby remained your skin

With every other battered from the wind

No verdant fields of evergreen

Only hell awaits for me

Branched out high and shimmering

Nectar sweet and forbidden

Though in time you'll rot from within

And turn the ground with those who lived

No verdant fields of evergreen

Only hell awaits for me

So love is patient and love is kind

But never seems to find the time

URSA MINOR

By the light of the moon subside

Deep in hues of waning light

Lying on your starboard side

Casting off into the night

Sail onto a tranquil sea

In all of its indefatigability

Some sleepless nights you will be my guide

When eyes are too tired to see the tide

Brightly burn

On the stern of it

When the water's turning

Be my guide

CRESTFALLEN

So woebegone

Now you've grown old to want to be alone

No direction of where but with the wind

And you're holding on so close

To the hope that one day you'll unsew

The imbrication's of sadness from your skin

It'll never end

The withering of the winter wind

The cabin fever itching from within

There's a wilderness

Barely beating and it's such a sin

The paths they've led and all that they did spin

Cresttfallen

They've got a hold

They've got a hold

They've got a hold
